With my Organic Landscape portfolio, I desire to create images that are strong graphically yet gentle in presentation. I want the viewer to respond to the quality of light and line in my images. I compare the lines and shapes found in the landscape with the abstract human figure.
When photographing, I look for the natural movement formed by shadows and textures found on illuminated rolling landscapes, the edges and transparency of flower petals or on the smooth lines of the human figure.
I am interested in the luminosity and color of the light. I look for a quiet, thoughtful light to be the conveyer of the image.
I photograph in the Northern California region to record the light’s interaction with nature while paying attention to the natural shapes of water, land and atmosphere. I photograph subjects that are very clean in line and emotionally strong.
